We pride ourselves in offering a personalised service that caters to your individual needs.  We work with you to help you achieve hormonal balance and provide you with realistic expectations, so that you can feel like you again.

We appreciate that initial costs can seem high in comparison to the online providers, however we firmly believe that the high level of service provided by our experienced team is second-to-none, and therefore cannot be compared.  This is a lifelong partnership on a lifelong journey,  choosing who you work with on your road to optimal hormonal health can be one of the most important decisions that you will ever make.

When you first make contact with The Men’s Health Clinic, the path that you follow with us will typically start from one of three routes, these are summarised below.

For a detailed breakdown of medication costs, see How Much Does TRT Cost?

Route 1

No previous diagnosis of Testosterone Deficiency

Initial Assessment: £0 - £50

Arrange Your Blood Test

Before booking a New Patient TRT Consultation and commencing treatment under our care, you will need to have a formal diagnosis of Testosterone Deficiency.

An accurate diagnosis can only be made following a comprehensive blood test that includes a full hormone panel, as well as your more general health parameters which would highlight any potential reversible causes for your low testosterone. You would then need a second, more basic, confirmatory test four weeks later to confirm those initial results.

If you feel that you are suffering with the signs and symptoms of Testosterone Deficiency and are based in the UK, we can help you with organising the necessary diagnostic blood testing through clinic.  This will be followed by a courtesy telephone call with our doctor at no additional charge.

During this call, they will review your initial comprehensive blood results with you and give you their professional recommendations for moving forwards. TRT should always be viewed as a life-long therapy, treatment will only be recommended if you have already attempted to address any negative health and lifestyle factors, or there are no obvious reversible causes for your low testosterone.

If you wish to discuss your personal situation further prior to committing to any treatment with us, you are welcome to book a 15-minute Telephone Consultation with one of our doctors, there is a fee for this service.

New Patient TRT Consultation: £420 + Medication

Contact & Book

Your first appointment will always involve an in-person consultation with your doctor in clinic.  At this appointment your doctor will thoroughly review your bloodwork, discuss your current symptoms and conduct a thorough physical examination before commencing treatment with you.

We will always look at your medical history and current/past medication usage which may be influencing your current state of health, and the ongoing decisions we make about your care.

Your social history is also taken into consideration, including any past drug usage, as this can often provide a useful insight into your current testosterone level. The information you give is in complete confidence so the more information you give us, the more we can potentially assist you.

Where appropriate, your doctor will go through safe preparation of your injectable medications, and gently guide you through safe and correct injection technique so that you leave the consultation room with confidence, ready to embark on the next stage in your journey.

At the end of your consultation you will have complimentary use of our InBody 770 body composition scanner.  This allows us to record and track data relating to your physical health, as well as providing you with a benchmark to work from.  Repeat scanning will also form part of any annual face-to-face follow up consultations carried out in clinic, there is no additional fee for this service.

We are always happy to support you in approaching your GP to have your ongoing blood tests and medications organised under the NHS where possible. A letter requesting shared-care with your GP can be issued at the end of your consultation, or at a later date, if required.

Please allow up to 90 minutes for this appointment.

Special Instructions:

All new patients must attend clinic for their New Patient Consultation and for their first annual review, usually 12-15 months later. This is non-negotiable as it promotes safe and effective UK practice.

After your first annual review in clinic, if you are  stable on treatment, you can be approved for remote consultations and will no longer be required to attend clinic annually.  Your treatment can then be managed remotely if preferred.

Route 2

Confirmed Testosterone Deficiency but not on any treatment

Initial Assessment: £0 - £50

Arrange Your Blood Test

This route is for anyone who has been concerned about their hormone levels and has already taken the proactive step of having blood tests taken to see if they may have low testosterone. This includes all international patients.

If you have already had recent blood tests carried out demonstrating possible low testosterone and wish to be considered for treatment by our clinic, please forward those to us by email, including what led you to test in the first instance. These will be reviewed by our doctor, who will personally contact you by email with their professional recommendations.

If you wish to discuss your personal situation further prior to committing to any treatment with us, you are welcome to book a 15-minute Telephone Consultation with one of our doctors, there is a fee for this service, however please be aware that they would not be able to offer you specific medical advice as part of this call.

  • If you are on Nebido (Testosterone Undeconate), time your consultation for when your next injection is due.
  • If you are on a testosterone cream or gel, simply do not apply the topical treatment on the day of your consultation.

The Rest of Your Journey

After commencing treatment with us, you will have regular blood tests and follow up reviews with your clinician to ensure the continued safe and effective prescribing of your Testosterone Replacement Therapy. The timeline for these routine reviews is detailed below.

4-5 Week Telephone Consultation: £50

Contact & Book

Four weeks after starting treatment with us, you will have a blood test to see how your body is responding to therapy. Everybody is unique and responds to treatment differently, so it is important that this blood test is taken and reviewed at this stage.

For this appointment, we can help you organise a TRT PROTOCOL blood panel through clinic, or your GP may agree to organising these tests for you.  If this is the case, please ensure that they include all of the tests listed.

Once we have received your results, you will be asked to schedule a 15-minute Telephone Consultation with your doctor to review your results, discuss how therapy is going and for any adjustments to be made to your starting protocol if necessary.

10-11 Week Follow Up TRT Consultation: £80 - £160

Contact & Book

Your first formal follow up consultation is usually 10-11 weeks after starting treatment with us.  For this consultation, you have the option of either attending clinic and having your 10-week blood test drawn as part of the appointment, or if more convenient, you may have this consultation conducted via video link after you’ve organised the necessary blood tests remotely.

If you wish to arrange your blood test and consultation remotely, we can help you organise a TRT REVIEW blood panel through clinic, or your GP may agree to organising these for you.  If this is the case, please ensure that they include all of the tests listed.

This consultation will be an opportunity to discuss your well-being and any side effects that you may be experiencing.  Your doctor will then correlate this information with your blood results to see where your hormone levels are now that you are stable.  Your next three months of medications will also be issued at this appointment.

For all video consultations, you have the option of either a 15-minute (£80) or 30-minute (£160) consultation.  If everything is going well with nothing to report, you are welcome to opt for a 15-minute appointment, otherwise please book a 30-minute appointment.

Please allow up to 30 minutes for all clinic appointments.

Ongoing Follow Up TRT Consultations: £80 - £160

Contact & Book

After your 10-11 week follow up consultation, you will then be routinely reviewed once every 6-12 months, along with up to date blood results, where your doctor will review your current protocol, discuss any health concerns that you might have and formulate an on-going action plan so that we can continue to safely and effectively prescribe your TRT.

The necessary monitoring blood tests can be taken as part of your routine consultations in clinic, so no need to organise these in advance. Alternatively, if opting for a video consultation, we can help you arrange your blood tests remotely.  If your GP has agreed to organising these for you, please ensure that they include all of the required tests.

At the end of each routine follow up, you will be issued with your standard three month medications, with pre-authorisation of your interim medications which can be requested as required by telephone or email.

Once every 12 months, if returning to clinic for your annual face-to-face consultation, you will have another opportunity to use our InBody 770 body composition scanner so that we can continue to track and record data relating to your on-going physical health.

Special Instructions:

All patients (including international) must attend clinic for their first face-to-face follow up consultation, usually 12-15 months after commencing treatment, so that a physical examination can be carried out as appropriate.

After your first follow-up consultation in clinic, if you are a UK resident and stable on treatment you can be approved for remote consultations, and will no longer be required to attend clinic annually.  Your treatment can then be managed remotely if preferred.

All international patients will still be required to attend clinic every 12 months for a physical examination and to collect their medications.

IMPORTANT: If you are based in the UK and opt for your annual consultations to be carried out remotely, you will need to provide evidence of a recent blood pressure check prior to your appointment. If you are over 40 years old, you will also need to provide evidence of a recent Digital Rectal Examination (DRE) or MRI, so that your prostate health can be reviewed. This can be arranged through your GP or another private provider if required.

Please forward the above evidence by email PRIOR to your video consultation, as your next prescription(s) will not be issued or dispensed until your notes have been updated with this information.

Interim Protocol Changes: £0 - £50

Contact & Book

Occasionally, additional blood tests are required when protocol adjustments have been made outside of your routine reviews. We can help you arrange a TRT PROTOCOL blood panel through clinic, or your GP may agree to organising this for you.  If so, please ensure that they include all of the tests listed.

Once we have your results, your doctor will review them and contact you by email with any further action.  If you would prefer to discuss the results with your doctor over the phone, please book a 15-minute Telephone Consultation (there is a fee for this service).
