The Men’s Health Clinic is a CQC-registered, internationally recognised private medical clinic dedicated to delivering patient-centred care of the highest standard.
Since opening our doors in 2016, our primary focus has been on diagnosing and treating male hormone deficiency. Today, we’re proud to apply that same depth of knowledge and clinical expertise to the field of female Hormone Replacement Therapy.
As members of the British and International Societies for Sexual Medicine, as well as The British Menopause Society, we stay at the forefront of medical guidelines – enhancing them with more rigorous monitoring and forward-thinking treatment strategies. Safety and effectiveness remain our guiding principles.
Every treatment journey begins with a comprehensive diagnostic assessment that looks beyond your hormones to consider your overall health. We believe that achieving true physical and psychological well-being means treating the whole person, not just the condition.
Our mission is to deliver gold-standard care, combining advanced diagnostics with innovative therapies that go beyond conventional treatment models. Our experienced, forward-thinking team is here to provide clarity, set realistic expectations, and support you at every stage of your journey.
In addition to male and female Hormone Replacement Therapy, we offer a range of medical and therapeutic services that reflect our holistic and progressive approach to healthcare.

If you wish to be considered for Hormone Replacement Therapy at our clinic, your first step is to organise a comprehensive blood test that includes a full hormone panel, as well as your more general health parameters.
If you are based in the UK, we can help you with organising the necessary blood testing through our clinic, which will be followed by a courtesy telephone call with Dr Stevens at no additional charge. During this call he will review your initial comprehensive blood results with you, and give you his professional recommendations for moving forwards.
If you have already had recent blood tests carried out but have not yet started any type of Hormone Replacement Therapy, please forward those to us by email. They will be reviewed by Dr Stevens, who will personally contact you by email with recommended next steps.
If you are already on Hormone Replacement Therapy and wish to transfer your care to our clinic, please forward your most recent blood results by email for Dr Stevens to review and advise you further.
If you wish to discuss your personal situation further prior to committing to treatment with us, you are welcome to book a 15-minute Telephone Consultation with Dr Stevens, there is a fee for this service.
IMPORTANT: HRT is contraindicated in women with a current, past, or suspected history of breast or other oestrogen receptive cancer, i.e. ovarian. Please advise us prior to the initial assessment process if this applies to you.
Your first appointment will always involve an in-person consultation with at our Dorset clinic.
At this consultation, your doctor will take a detailed medical and social history from you, thoroughly assess your blood results, perform a basic physical examination and have an in-depth discussion with you regarding Hormone Replacement Therapy and your expectations, before commencing treatment with you.
Where appropriate, your doctor will go through safe preparation of your injectable medications, and gently guide you through safe and correct injection technique so that you leave the consultation room with confidence, ready to embark on the next stage in your journey.
At the end of your consultation, you will have complimentary use of our InBody 770 medical-grade body composition scanner. This allows us to record and track data relating to your physical health, as well as providing you with a benchmark to work from. Repeat scanning will also form part of any annual face-to-face follow up consultations carried out in clinic, there is no additional fee for this service.
We are always happy to support you in approaching your GP to have your blood investigations and medications supplied under the NHS where possible. A letter can be issued at the end of your consultation, or at a later date, if required.
Please allow up to 60-minutes for this appointment.
You will undergo a blood test seven weeks after starting therapy to evaluate your body’s response. Since everyone is unique and may respond differently to treatment, it’s crucial that this blood test is completed and reviewed at this stage.
We can help you arrange your blood tests through clinic, or your GP may agree to organising these for you. Once we have received your results, you will be asked to schedule a 15-minute Telephone Consultation with your doctor to review your results, discuss how therapy is going and for any adjustments to be made to your starting protocol if necessary.
Your next six months of medications will also be issued/pre-authorised following this consultation.
You are welcome to book a Telephone Consultation between routine follow ups if you wish to discuss your current treatment plan with your doctor over the phone, rather than by email.
Please allow up to 15 minutes for this appointment.
Your first formal follow up will be six months later (eight months after starting therapy with us). After this you will be routinely reviewed every 6-12 months.
This consultation is an opportunity for your doctor to review your current protocol, discuss any health concerns that you might have and formulate an on-going action plan so that we can continue to safely and effectively prescribe your HRT.
Your next 6-12 months of medications will also be issued/pre-authorised at this appointment.
We are firm believers in the value of human contact and a personal approach, which is at the very heart of our ethos. Therefore, we always encourage patients to attend the clinic for follow up consultations whenever possible. During your visit, any necessary monitoring blood tests can be conducted as part of your consultation, so there’s no need to arrange them in advance.
Once every 12 months, you will also have another opportunity to use our InBody 770 body composition scanner so that we can continue to track and record data relating to your on-going physical health.
Please allow up to 30 minutes for all clinic appointments.
For remote video consultations, we can assist in arranging your blood tests remotely one week prior to your appointment, or your GP may be able to organise them for you.
When booking your follow up appointment, you can choose between a 15-minute (£80) or 30-minute (£160) session. If everything is progressing well with no concerns to address, you may opt for the 15-minute appointment. However, if you have any updates or need more time, please select the 30-minute appointment.
If you are based in the UK and have opted for your follow up consultations to be carried out remotely, you will need to provide evidence of a recent blood pressure check prior to your appointment. This can be arranged through your GP, pharmacy or another private provider.
Please forward the above evidence by email prior to your video consultation, as your next prescription(s) will not be issued or dispensed until your notes have been updated with this information.
Occasionally, additional blood tests are required when protocol adjustments have been made outside of your routine reviews. We can help you arrange a ‘HRT REVIEW’ blood panel through clinic, or your GP may agree to organising this for you. If so, please ensure that they include all of the tests listed in the above panel.
Once we have your results, your doctor will review them and contact you by email with any further action. There is no additional fee for this email service.
If you would prefer to discuss the results with your doctor over the phone, please book a 15-minute Telephone Consultation. There is a £50 fee for this service.
Regular blood testing is a fundamental part of treatment at The Men’s Health Clinic. As each person is biochemically unique, it is only by regularly reviewing exactly how your body is responding to treatment that we can confidently continue to prescribe your medication and manage your treatment plan safely and effectively. The following blood tests are available in clinic, they can also be organised remotely.
This comprehensive female blood panel (47 health markers) encompasses all the blood tests required to make an accurate assessment of your hormonal status. It also assesses other health parameters, including vitamin deficiencies, to give a more complete picture of your current state of health.
We will request that every new patient has this (or equivalent) blood test carried out prior to booking an HRT consultation with us, so that all health parameters can be reviewed and taken into consideration when deciding on your personalised treatment plan.
This test is also suitable when on HRT treatment, we recommend that it is carried out at least once every 12 months.
*Applicable to new patients only. All diagnostic blood tests include a complimentary telephone consultation with Dr Stevens to discuss your results and suitability for treatment. This will be booked once your results are received from the lab.

Our gold standard female Hormone Replacement Therapy is a combination of an injectable oestrogen (Oestradiol Valerate), plus an injectable testosterone (Testosterone Cypionate). The benefits of testosterone in Female HRT are discussed further in this article.
Both medications are administered alongside a body identical progesterone where necessary. All medications are safely prescribed with a protocol specifically designed and tailored to meet your individual needs.
Utilising injectable oestrogen and testosterone for use in female HRT is uncommon in the UK, however it is extremely common practice in the United States and Europe. It’s method of administration means that your dose can be carefully titrated and managed according to your body’s own requirements and natural response. This is scientifically measured via regular blood testing, with your blood parameters being thoroughly reviewed by your doctor who will use this information to make any necessary adjustments to your personal dosing regimen.
If you would prefer more traditional methods of HRT, including oestrogen patches and gel, these are available on a private prescription and can be discussed with our doctor during your consultation.
Please contact us if you would like a full breakdown of all HRT medication options offered by The Men’s Health Clinic.
At the end of your three month medication starter boxes, we will only continue to issue your prescription medication and prescription-only supplies from clinic.
