Who are Macro Array Diagnostics?

Macro Array Diagnostics are a Vienna-based MedTech company.  They develop, produce and distribute tests, instruments and software for allergy and intolerance diagnostics, and research applications.  Their products allow flexible, reliable and affordable sensitisation profiling of each patient.

What is a FOX Food Explorer test?

The FOX Food Explorer is a state-of-the art combined food intolerance test that can rapidly and reliably test your antibody response to over 250 food extracts simultaneously. Molecular antigens for wheat gliadin and cow’s milk are also included for enhanced insight into the sensitivity of those two potentially immunogenic foods.

One blood sample is all that is needed to carry out a comprehensive analysis, making it a valuable diagnostic tool for the assessment of even complex food intolerance related cases.

The full range of antigens that are tested for can be found here.

What is a food intolerance?

Food intolerance is a reaction often referred to as “hidden” or “masked” hypersensitivity, which is a systemic response of the whole body. This is not an allergy, but a reaction of the immune system leading to the formation of immunoglobulin (IgG) antibodies against certain foods.  These food sensitivities are highly individualised, and symptoms are subtle and often delayed. Adverse reactions can occur from 3 to 72 hours after ingesting the offending food.

Why test for food intolerances?

Elevated IgG antibodies can promote systemic (whole-body) inflammation, leading to a variety of unwanted symptoms.

The FOX Food Explorer tests your IgG antibodies to a extensive variety of common foods.   This level of food sensitivity testing provides an in-depth insight into adverse food reactions and the symptoms they create. The results can be used by you or your practitioner to personalise your diet and lifestyle to reduce and eliminate symptoms related to these adverse food reactions.

Usually, eliminating foods that promote an IgG antibody response can reduce stress on the immune system, lower whole-body inflammation, and help heal the gut. An antibody-guided elimination diet is more reliable and preferable than the more generalised diet plans or exclusion diets which are simply based on food journaling and diet history alone.
