Boys Are Better Than Girls… FACT!

| By: Dr Robert Stevens

It’s no secret, boys are better than girls at most sports.  I’m not being sexist, I’m being brutally honest.  That Y chromosome gives us the edge when it comes to physical strength, and gives us a mental advantage that makes us bigger, stronger, faster and braver.  There’s a reason men don’t compete against women in competitive sports… we have an unfair advantage.  Our genetic make-up and biology supersede any possible skill bias women may have.  And guess what?  Testosterone plays a pivotal role in this advantage.

We are also dumb, sometimes very dumb.  We do stupid things, we take unnecessary risks.  Women live longer than men for a reason.  Our stupidity though is worth watching!  I’m not sure what it is in our DNA that drives us to do the things we do, but I’m sure testosterone fuels that spark.

“A boy comes to me with a spark of interest, I feed the spark and it becomes a flame. I feed the flame and it becomes a fire. I feed the fire and it becomes a roaring blaze.” ~ Cus D’Amato.

With the right direction, that roaring blaze can work in our favour.  History has taught us that explorers, pioneers, inventors etc are usually men.  It is however, as much of a curse as it is a gift, and that drive has led to countless deaths, destruction and chaos.

‘Better’ is clearly the wrong word… it’s the word I use to wind Lydia up when we have this argument, but it’s not an accurate description.  BTW, if there are loads of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors in this piece, it’s because Lydia has refused to proof read it and correct my usual catalogue of errors that she will no doubt pick out after it’s published.  I may just stick a few in to wind her up. Intentional or unintentional, who knows?

This all started after Djokovic got into trouble for saying male tennis players should be paid more than females.  I don’t pay much attention to comment as the media never present a non-biased objective argument.  It’s not their fault as they are merely puppets in this game, and I will not be swayed by someone else’s agenda.

My argument was that male dominant sports deserve more attention because they are more competitive and more entertaining to watch.  Of course, that was an inflammatory comment, followed up by ‘unless it’s women’s beach volleyball!’ just to ignite the smouldering embers and sit back to watch it burn.  I’m not a Neanderthal, I would prefer to watch the best irrespective of gender.  In general, ratings for male dominant sports are higher than for female dominant sports.  It makes sense therefore that a business would want to advertise their product during a male event rather than a female one.  That money should therefore be apportioned to the person, irrespective of gender, who brings in the most revenue for the investing business.

Is it fair?  Surely the female athlete has trained just as hard and for just as long to be in the position they are?  Well yes, life isn’t ‘fair’.  When a female athlete brings in the same amount of revenue as a male athlete, then they should be apportioned a representative share.

“Well, more money should be invested into women’s sports!” I hear women cry, and “Women’s sports should get as equal coverage as men’s!”.  Sure, but why?  Sports are predominantly male orientated.  More men play sports and watch sport.  Sport evolved from gladiatorial times when slaves would fight to the death for the amusement of the crowd.  “Are you not entertained?”  Sport had a brutal, cruel, sadistic beginning.  Fighting is in our DNA, sports are just a civilised way of feeding the primitive beast that lies within all of us, men and women alike.

Men are bigger, stronger and faster because of our DNA and TESTOSTERONE.  Women that excel at competitive sport have a higher testosterone level than their non-competitive counterparts.

Testosterone is key, it doesn’t make you more skilled, it just allows you to be more skilled.  Make sure your testosterone is optimal by asking your doctor for a simple blood test.  Hormone Replacement Therapy isn’t just for girls!

I’m glad we’ve cleared that up… 😉
